Goal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the project is to raise awareness among young people living in Kutaisi and provide them with the relevant knowledge and skills to effectively provide first aid to the population and provide support in extreme situations, such as abnormally high or low temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was implemented over 8 months (February - September 2024) and included a variety of activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Target group:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was targeted at the population living in Kutaisi: young people, pensioners, and groups of people who are at risk of exposure to abnormally high temperatures (e.g., people with cardiovascular disease).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methodology and activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multifaceted events, campaigns, camps, media activities, and initiatives organized within the framework of the program contributed to both awareness-raising and direct assistance in accordance with safety recommendations and behavior in conditions of abnormally high temperatures. The main components included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Information campaign:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Implementation of information dissemination activities by young people in the municipality, the aim of which was to raise awareness about safety rules in conditions of abnormally high temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Sharing recommendations and advice issued by international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Formation of an initiative group:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 A group of young people was formed to assist on the ground: they offered drinking water to the population during the abnormal heat and shared relevant information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Online and offline meetings:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Sessions, seminars, and workshops were held for interested parties, where practical recommendations from international organizations were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 The meetings included both online and physical engagement to make information as accessible as possible to different groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Achievements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program has had a significant impact on the awareness of both young people and the wider community. Its results include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Increasing the level of awareness among the local population about safe behavior in extreme heat conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Increasing youth engagement in civic and social initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Disseminating information about international recommendations and promoting their application in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
