A meeting with representatives of civil society from the Imereti region

Within the framework of the project “REACT for Georgia: Resilient, Engaged, Active Civil Society for Transformation” a meeting was held with representatives of civil society from the Imereti region. The meeting took place at the office of the Imereti Regional Civil Society Hub — the Research-Intellectual Club “Dialogue of Generations” (RICDOG), where: • Participants discussed the current state and challenges faced by civil society; • Representatives had the opportunity to share organizational experiences and exchange perspectives; • Attendees were introduced to the EU Information Corner established at the RICDOG office, presented by Secretary General Irakli Tevzadze. RICDOG volunteers have launched a new crowdfunding campaign: “Start the Change with Yourself!”

RICDOG VOLUNTEERS HAVE LAUNCHED A NEW CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN: “START THE CHANGE WITH YOURSELF!” Through the Orbeliani Meti platform, a new initiative by RICDOG’s volunteers and team members — “Give the Gift of Education to Children in Kutaisi!” — is seeking support. If the target amount is raised through crowdfunding, the idea will receive additional resources co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Campaign Description (Content): At the initiative of young volunteers and in collaboration with the RICDOG team, an innovative program is being launched in Kutaisi for socially vulnerable children. The program is based on the “ART is Fun+” methodology and aims to support the creative, academic, and personal development of 60 children. The 6-week program includes weekly sessions held at the newly established social enterprise space in Kutaisi. Children will have access to a safe and supportive environment where energetic and motivated volunteer youth workers will work with them throughout the process. The program: • Strengthens children’s key competencies — creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression. • Improves English language proficiency and communication skills. • Increases motivation and promotes children’s engagement in social life.

„Civic Education Champions“ Camp

The 4-day camps, which were based on the principles of non-formal education, hosted 48 young people from 12 municipalities of Imereti in two streams. Each day of the camp was specially planned around the topics of civic engagement, leadership, teamwork, initiative planning, and communication, to gain practical and theoretical knowledge. Over the next 2 months, young people will be involved in the activities of municipal civic education clubs and will participate in a program created with a gamification approach to initiate changes in the community. Within the framework of the project, various activities will be held for young people from 12 municipalities of Imereti, which will be mainly implemented by municipal civic education clubs.
