The Civic Education Champions Program concluded with a final conference

“The Research-Intellectual Club ‘Dialogue of Generations’ (RICDOG) has successfully concluded the ‘Civic Education Champions’ programme, implemented with the financial support of the Council of Europe project ‘Democracy Starts in School – Engaging Schoolchildren in Decision-Making in Schools and Local Communities.’”

The final conference, which served as the closing event of the programme, brought together 120 participants, including parents, teachers, young people, and representatives of civil society.

Over the past two months, youth civic education clubs from 12 municipalities of Imereti have been actively working in their communities – planning, creating, and implementing initiatives that engaged more than 250 young people and generated over 700 activities. The programme was based on a gamified approach, which provided participants with even greater motivation

At the conference, the winning clubs were announced:

• 🥇 DREAM TEAM – the Civic Education Club of Sachkhere
• 🥈 GALAKOLKHETI – the Civic Education Club of Vani
• 🥉 GENz for Change – Baghdati Civic Education Club

Symbolic gifts were presented to the winning clubs, some of which were provided with the support of the private sector. The organizers express their gratitude to “Pencilled” stationery store, “Vento” marketing agency, and “Khemsi” company for their valuable support.

The project once again demonstrated the importance of empowering young people, encouraging their active participation in the community, and supporting their initiatives, all of which create positive change within local societies.
